Great to See so Many of You at Steak Roast--July 26th

It was really great to see so many of you at the Local 81359 Steak Roast—Saturday, July 26^th—2014;  I’d bet half the people there were Retirees—some 88 years old, and looking really good (wow !!!).  We also realized there were about 20 or so Retirees that are now deceased;  sad , today, many of the original pioneers of the business and Union have passed away.  When you see the older Retirees still participating in Union functions, you realize the importance of unity, participation and collegiality—supporting each other in our goals and objectives!  It is up to us to pass the baton to the next generation—the values and the importance of Unionism.

I got to talk with many of you, and explain who we are, and what we do as a Retired Members Chapter.  I believe once people understand the situation , economy, and possible changes that may be coming…they also understand the importance of us sticking together and helping one another, and doing our best to protect and keep the benefits we now have.  Many of you expressed an interest in , or at least, more information on, our Local Retiree Chapter.  Our Official Name is IUE-CWA Retired Members Chapter (RMC)-81359.  I gave many you some informational sheets, great resources and links for Retirees,  the CWA Retiree Council Pamphlet, and Application Forms to Join the CWA Retiree Council (National—Parent Group), and to Join our Local Retiree Chapter (IUE-CWA RMC-81359).  Thank you for taking the time to stop by, and let me explain some things about Local Retiree Chapter.

Please read over the materials, and once again, we, the Members of the IUE-CWA RMC-81359 invite YOU to Come & Join Us!  We need each other.  Thank so much, each of you, for sharing with me!  We hope to have our next General Membership Meeting soon…we plan on bringing in a Speaker from Social Security—to explain your options in the Social Security Program and Medicare—it should be a GOOD one!  By the way, CWA told me spouses CAN JOIN our Local Chapter.
